What is hypnotherapy like? Solution focused hypnotherapy is a gentle and supportive form of therapy which combines psychotherapy with hypnosis. It is designed to be positive, relaxing, and relatively brief, aiming to reduce anxiety and create positive change by helping clients visualize a “preferred future” without dwelling on past traumas. It is like having your hand held whilst you make steps into the future you desire.

What happens to me during hypnosis? Hypnotic trance is a completely normal brain state where you relax and dial down the busy beta brain waves and calm the noise of daily life. You remain in full control of your actions during our trance session. As you relax your mind, you enter of state of focused attention where you can ignore the noises outside, and you reach a creative , imaginative state where your alpha and theta brain waves become more active. It’s like giving your busy brain the hug that it needs.
